Are available in the disabled toilets in the
Outpatients Dept. on Level 2.

Car Service
If there is no-one who can take you home,
Hospital Car transport can be organised at the discretion
of the nursing staff. A charge of £5 is payable for this
service and at least two days notice is required.

Shop
The League of Friends shop is in the main
entrance concourse on Level 2. It offers a selection of
goods, including toiletries, newspapers, magazines,
flowers, and confectionary. A selection of goods are also
brought to the wards each day. The shop is open from:
Monday
to Saturday 10am - 6pm
Sunday 2.30pm - 4.30pm
Library
Service
The library trolley service brings books to most
wards on Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Books can also be borrowed from
the patients library on Level 1 which is open weekdays 9am
to 5pm. Large print
titles and spoken word cassettes are also available for
loan.
Meals
The Hospital offers a choice of tasty meals and
portion sizes, which are prepared to buld up your
strength and aid your recovery. Each day we will ask you
to fill in a menu card for the next day. Vegetarian,
therapeutic and religious diets are available.

Mobile
Phones
The use of mobile phones is restricted within
the hospital. They are banned on some wards because they
affect the workings of some medical equipment.
Newspapers
Newspapers and magazines are delivered to most
wards each morning.
Patient
Post
Letters are delivered to the wards twice a day.
If you move ward or go home, your mail will be redirected.

Outgoing
letters are collected from wards at 4pm daily or can be posted in he
postbox in the main entrance concourse. Stationary and
stamps are available from the League of Friends shop.
Religious
Services
Chaplins of all denominations visit the hospital
regularly and can visit you personally. A service is held
in the hospital Chapel every Sunday at 9am (which is also broadcast on
Tarka Radio).
Restaurant
Visitors are welcome to eat in the 'Raleigh
Galley' in the hospital basement (Level 0). This is open
from 7.30am to 7.45pm for hot and cold meals, snacks and
drinks.
Serving
times for meals are:
Breakfast
7.30am to 10.30am
Lunch 12 to 2pm
Supper 5.45pm to 7.45pm
Tea
Bar
The League of Friends also run a tea and snack
bar, in the main entrance concourse. This is open at the
same times as the shop.
Telephones
A coin operated telephone trolley is available
on each ward for outgoing calls. There are also four
public telephones in the main entrance.
Television/Radio
A television is available in all the day rooms
and many of the ward bays.
Each bed is equipped with headphones giving you access to
local, national radio and of course, Tarka Radio.
